Yet another dangling government DNS...
Creating and maintaining websites can be hard - especially if you’re a branch of the government.
Way back in 2021, I covered how a UK Department of Transport subdomain had been hijacked and used as a porn site. This time it’s Idaho’s Department of Trade. The irony is overwhelming as Idaho is one of the US states that has a real downer on words and images that depict people doing the dirty, and instituted mandatory age checks, allowed parents to directly sue porn providers that let their kids see said naughties, while at the same time, claiming “Sovereign immunity” from that same law.
It’s also the worst-managed website migration I’ve ever seen (I’ve seen a few.)
Dangling DNS is a perenniel problem, but it’s always entertaing to watch a government fall flat on its face.
